Hi
Director, VFX Artist, and a little bit of a writer. These seem to be the three things that sum up my creative ambitions best. I have spent years doing FX for feature films, and now am in the Ad world as the Creative Director of Heckler Singapore, often finding myself living my childhood dream and directing.
Writing is a passion that in some ways is unrelated and in some ways threads its way through everything that I do. ​
I really enjoy directing. I think its probably the power trip. Okay not really. I love that to make a good film (even a 30 second one) it requires so many people to do so many different crafts really well. Directing is a game where you close your eyes and use your imagination, then open them and do your best to convey your imaginings to all the clever people who can bring them to life.
I have devoted a lot of my life to the art of visual effects. I have always been fascinated by the challenge of taking impossible ideas and bringing them to life on the big screen, as if they were completely real. Like a magic trick.
I enjoy writing short stories that deal with real emotions, but include strange or magical elements. I like talking animals and personified weather systems and vampires that feed on deep truths.
